My main grievance with FF3 is that Organise Bookmarks is a colossal fuck-up. However, I’ve finally found out how to get bookmarks into A-Z order – the trick is to ignore Organise Bookmarks.
In the bookmarks sidebar, close the folder that holds your bookmarks, righ click it, and click Sort by Name, as shown below. Done. And the same thing applies to each individual folder, as you’ll find that FF3 has scrambled their contents too. And none of this, of course, changes the fact that the Sort feature in Organize Bookmarks HAS NEVER WORKED! Are you reading this at Mozilla?
Sadly, there’s no fix for the deeply crappy Awesome Bar (that’s the load of irrelevant links that appear when you click the little downward arrow in the address bar).
